Music Video Monday: Jedward, Katy Perry and Oxegen 2010
Written February 16, 2010. Platforms and services described here have changed. This is kept as a record, not as current advice.
You’ve got to hand it to Jedward for finishing their performance at T4 on the Beach even though Edward broke his leg mid way through the set. Seems we’re all just a little curious to see popstars injure themselves onstage as this poor quality clip is almost top of the charts for music video views this week on YouTube With a new album Teenage Dream in the pipeline Katy Perry is drumming up publicity on YouTube by inviting her fans to put questions to her in a moderated “Ask Katy” page.
She’s already been posed over 10,000 questions by fans and the questions with the most votes will be answered by Miss Perry in a video back to the fans. It’s Smash Hits gone video! Festival season is in full swing in Europe and here in Ireland our biggest outdoor music festival Oxegen took over the news this past weekend. Unfortunately for attendees it was one of the wettest Oxegens to date.
The crowd at headliner Jay-Z’s concert didn’t seem to mind so much; this video is just one of the thousands which will be uploaded in the coming days documenting the music from a festival-goers perspective. Sticking with the Oxegen theme, Irish band “The Brilliant Things” performed one of their songs using an iPhone theremin app. It seems there really always is ‘an app for that’.
